Belle Glos Clark & Telephone Pinot Noir 2022

The Belle Clos Clark and Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir hails from the cool Santa Maria Valley near the intersection of the streets from which the vineyard takes its name. Planted to Martini clone of Pinot Noir on its own roots in 1972, the vineyard is a piece of history. Vines of this age and that haven’t been grafted to rootstock are increasingly rare in California. The wine is deep and intense for Pinot Noir. The nose is full of ripe black cherry and black plum, and even raspberry jam, with a melange of cacao nib, clove, cedar and vanilla. This wine overflows with rich fruit and oak. Pairs with roasted leg of lamb or five-spice roasted duck with blueberries and cheeses like Dorothy’s Keep Dreaming or a mild blue.
