Calera Central Coast Pinot Noir 2021
$19.99
Josh Jensen is an early pioneer for American Pinot Noir who sought out vineyard sites that have the most unique aspect of the iconic vineyards of Burgundy – limestone soils. After years of searching, Jensen found the site. Mt. Harlan in San Benito County, about one hundred miles south of San Francisco. The Central Coast Pinot Noir showcases the regions expression as a whole. The nose is rich and ripe with black raspberry jam and bing cherry supported by baking spice nuance, purple flowers, and autumn leaf. The palate follows the nose with complex layers of ripe red fruit and earthiness with a long and complex finish. Calera is a sleeper of a California Pinot Noir that should be on everyones radar. Pair this wine with an herb-roasted chicken or pan roasted squash with rosemary and browned butter and creamy cheeses.
